The Racha region is in western Georgia, 100 miles north of Tbilisi between Imereti and the Greater Caucasus mountains. It is often talked off as a mountain paradise with lakes, springs, mountain hiking trails and river beaches. 

Many wines made in this area are traditionally semi-sweet, however winemakers are now tending to make drier wines. This area is where the rarest grape varieties of Georgia are grown.
