One of the main white grape varieties grown in Kakheti, Georgia. Its name literally means 'red stem'. Known as the 'workhorse' for its high yields and resilience it is a delicious variety with flavours of citrus and apple and when fermented in qvevri develops beautiful orange peel, apricot and honey flavours.
