Terms of service

Whenever you buy goods from us, use our website or sign-up to our newsletter, you agree to these terms and conditions. When you register for an account on this website you agree to be bound by our terms. From time to time, our terms may change so please ensure you check them regularly.

1. Quality promise

We have carefully selected each bottle of wine that appears on our website. If you buy a product that you don’t like, then please let us know and we will work with you to find a product to replace it.

In the unlikely event you receive a faulty wine, we will refund you the price of the bottle and may ask you to return it to us so we can investigate further.

2. Delivery

We deliver to England, Scotland and Wales. To get your wine to you, we charge the following:

1 bottle – £2.99

2 – 3 bottles – £5.99 (~£2.00 per bottle)

4 – 6 bottles – £14.99 (~£2.50 per bottle)

6+ bottles – £24.99 (~£2.00 per bottle, for a case of 12)

All of our deliveries typically take between 2-4 working days and are shipped by either Royal Mail or The Delivery Group via our partners at PackSmart. Bigger deliveries are handled by LCB in Cambridgeshire. Our wine is carefully packaged to minimise breakages or damage. Delivery may take place 8am – 8pm, Monday – Friday, excluding Bank Holidays.

Customers may like to leave instructions for our couriers to leave their parcel in a safe place. This is the best way to ensure you get your order on time. Please leave these details on the order form when you checkout.

In the event you don’t receive your delivery on time, please contact us so that we can investigate it for you and refund you the delivery cost.

If you receive any damaged bottles then please let us know immediately and we will refund you for these wines.

3. Your feedback

We are always looking for ways to improve our independent business. If you have any feedback, please get in touch with us so that we can help improve our service and your experience.

4. Age restriction

We will only sell alcohol or alcohol-related products to customers who are aged 18 years old or older. When you place an order you confirm that you are at least 18 years old.

This age restriction also applies to any alcohol or alcohol-related items purchased as a gift. Both the customer and the recipient must be over 18 years old.

Once the parcel has been delivered it is the recipient’s responsibility to look after the goods and abide by UK law.

5. Payment

You can pay us through this website in Pounds Sterling (GBP). We accept:

Visa (credit and debit cards)

MasterCard (credit and debit cards)

American Express

When we are at shows, events and tastings, we accept card payment (via iZettle) and cash. All wholesale purchases must be paid by bank transfer.

All prices are in pounds sterling (GBP).

All prices include Value Added Tax (VAT).

We reserve the right to stop our special offers at any time.

6. Security

Our website is fully secured by SSL for the transfer of credit card information. We also ensure all of the data we store is secured and access is strictly limited internally.

It is your responsibility to protect your account password from being disclosed to any third party.

7. Vouchers or offers

Vouchers are redeemable on transactions made on our website or during an event. You must be aged 18 or over to buy any alcohol or alcohol-related goods with your voucher.

Vouchers can be used for most goods we sell, however restrictions may apply. Please get in touch if a voucher you believe to be valid is not being accepted. 

8. Returns

If some wines you receive are damaged or faulty, you must inform us within 7 days of delivery. We will replace or refund you for the affected bottles and, if possible, ask you to return them to us so that we can investigate the issue.

Returns will need to be in their original box. Refunds will be paid within 14 days of an agreement being made. All refunds are made at our discretion.

9. Intellectual Property Rights

You agree and recognise that we own or are licensed to use all copyright, database rights, trade marks and other intellectual property rights in and to all parts of this website, and to the business of gvino Ltd.

You must obtain written consent before you use our website or any other part of the business in any other way than is detailed here in our Terms and Conditions.

10. Warranties

We warrant that the wines will be of satisfactory quality and fit for their purpose.

12. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these terms shall exclude gvino Ltd’s liability for personal injury or death caused by its negligence.

We will not be liable for any loss or damage caused by us, our employees or agents in circumstances where:

  • loss or damage was unforeseeable to both parties when the contract was formed;
  • loss or damage not caused by any breach on part of the supplier;
  • loss of damage related to business and/or non-consumers.

We are not liable for any loss or damage caused by the customer handling the wine, including theft, spillages or breakages.

Customers should be aware that:

  • Alcohol should be consumed in moderation. See Drink Aware.
  • Cases of wine can be heavy so extra care should be taken, or 1 or 2 bottles of wine transferred at a time.
  • Wine or spirits may stain if spilt.
  • Sparkling wines may be volatile due to the build up of gasses and care should be taken when opening these.
  • Packaging can become damp or damaged and should be checked in advance before lifting or moving.

13. General

We are not liable for any late or failed deliveries of your wine that are caused by circumstances beyond our control but will investigate any such event if you report it to us.

These terms may be edited or changed in full at any time.

Order acceptance and the completion of the contract between you and us will take place on the dispatch to you of the products ordered.

14. Anti-Bribery and Corruption Policy Statement

Gvino Ltd values its reputation for ethical behaviour and reliability. We aim to limit our company in its exposure to bribery by:

  • Setting out our a clear anti-bribery and corruption policy;
  • Training our employees so they can recognise and avoid the use of bribery by themselves or by others;
  • Encouraging our employees to be vigilant and to report and suspicion of bribery, providing them with suitable channels of communication and ensuring sensitive information is appropriately treated.
  • Rigorously investigating instances of alleged bribery and assisting the police and other appropriate authorities in any resultant prosecution;
  • Taking firm action against any individual(s) involved in bribery.

14.1 Policy Statement

Gvino Ltd prohibits the offering, the giving, the solicitation or the acceptance of any bribe, whether cash or other inducement to or from any person or company, wherever they are situated and whether they are a public official or body or private person or company by any individual employee, agent or other person or body acting on Gvino Ltd’s behalf in order to gain any commercial, contractual or regulatory advantage for Gvino Ltd, which is unethical or in order to gain any personal advantage, monetary or otherwise, for the individual or anyone connected with the individual.

14.2 Further Clarification

gvino Ltd recognises that market practice varies across the territories in which it does business and what is normal and acceptable in one place may not be in another. This policy prohibits any inducement which results in a personal gain or advantage to the recipient or any person or body associated with them, and which is intended to influence them to take action which may not be solely in the interests of Intec or of the person or body employing them or whom they represent.

This policy is not meant to prohibit the normal and appropriate hospitality providing it is customary in a particular market, are proportionate and are properly recorded.

Inevitably, decisions as to what is acceptable may not always be easy. If anyone is in doubt as to whether a potential act constitutes bribery, the matter should be referred to a co-founder with responsibility for this policy before proceeding.

15. Environment Policy Statement

gvino Ltd recognises its responsibility for the environment and will ensure compliance with all relevant current and future legislation. Where appropriate, we will also endeavour to be compliant with our codes of practice.

We are committed to minimising the environmental impact of our operations and continue to operate side-by-side with our suppliers, customers and stakeholders. In particular, we will achieve this through our commitment to:

  • Reduce the amount of waste produced;
  • Minimise operational impact on the environment from importing, exporting and distributing stock;
  • Use recyclable and renewable materials for all packaging where appropriate;
  • Regularly review the environmental impact of our activities, endeavour to reduce our overall environmental impact and prevent waste using best practice techniques;

We will foster environmental awareness and understanding in all employees, suppliers, customers and subcontractors. Where practicable, the company will provide information and assistance to customers on environmental issues arising from its products and services.
